Sr Strategic Sourcing Buyer
within our Strategic Procurement Team to be based at our corporate offices in either Bloomington or Marshall MN. In this role you will manage our grains sourcing strategy—ideal for someone with a strong background in commodity risk management and supply strategy. Responsibilities: Manage the grain category spend of up to $140m including research, negotiation, contracting, budgeting, and communication to all stakeholders Analyze commodity market data and establish hedge strategies to mitigate market volatility Develop and implement supplier strategies to ensure quality, continuity, and cost optimization Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, R&D, and Finance on supply and project related tasks Stay ahead of global market trends, supply chain risks, and emerging sourcing opportunities Generate productivity and supply efficiency ideas to reduce inflationary pressures Create and present strategic reports to senior leadership and key customers Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience in a procurement role) 4+ years in a role involving buyer/procurement of materials ideally ingredients within the CPG Food Industry Proven success in financial hedging, supplier development, and stakeholder engagement Strong project management experience to support projects for new products and savings efforts Compensation and Benefits: The base salary range for this position is $81,750 – $136,250 annually with eligibility for a 10% annual incentive bonus, which is based on organizational performance. The salary range represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to education, skills, work experience, certifications, geography etc. As such, starting pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range. Solid communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency with data, category, and market analysis. Experienced in analyzing supplier logistics network to optimize delivered costs. Experienced negotiator with developed skills in strategy development and execution. The ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, achieve objectives, manage confidential information, and work cooperatively in groups. Ability to perform analysis associated with assigned categories such as TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), supplier margin evaluation and discounts. Direct KSA: Series 3 – National Commodities Futures certification required Proficient in use and applications of futures/options for hedge instruments Ability to utilize hedge instruments to protect risk. Indirect KSA: CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) required. CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional Certification) preferred.
