Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
Production
• Start-up, shut down & basic troubleshooting for each area material handling system
• Provides the correct items (raw material) in sufficient quantity to each production line per the daily requirement.
• Replenishes each production line with material prior to running out of materials to ensure that production lines do not go down.
• Returns into stock any components not used in the production processes.
• Fills in for any position on the production lines, or any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Removes all finished goods from production lines and places on the skid of finished goods on the stretch wrap machine.
• After skid of finished goods is stretch wrapped, then takes skid to a holding area for shipping or for stock in the shipping warehouse.
• Replaces scrap bins to each production line to maintain a clean environment.
• Assists Production Supervisor and other Material Handlers in any duties that need to be performed.
• In order to drive a forklift, he/she must be qualified by a Sabert Instructor.
• Ensure the correct materials and blend are loaded into each line by following the BOM and centerline
• Maintain material inputs and availability to all lines in production
• Remove scrap materials from each line that is created during the extrusion and thermoforming process
• Consistently clean and remove materials/dust/pellet/grinds from the production floor caused by spills, leakages, etc...
Maintenance
• Performs daily forklift maintenance and ensures that the forklift is always recharged and in good, safe working condition.
• Fills out a daily forklift safety sheet.
Safety
• Operates a forklift truck in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to certification protocol.
• Reports any unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
• Adheres to safety policy.
• Must wear all safety gear at all times.
• Must wear hairnet and gloves while handling finished product.
• Must wear company issue uniforms.
Physical Demands
• Standing and walking a majority of the day (12 hour shift).
• Sitting and Driving backward with a load (20% of the day on forklift).
• Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally
