USP is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Design Manager to join our Creative Services team within the Global Communications department. This role is ideal for a strategic problem-solver who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about visual storytelling, brand consistency, and impactful design. You will work closely with in-house and freelance designers, other creative professionals, and communications managers to develop compelling visual content that supports USP's mission and enhances our global presence. Responsibilities

Drive USP's brand identity, establish brand guidelines, and produce creative content for a global organization. Develop integrated visual campaigns across print and digital communications channels as part of storytelling efforts. Collaborate with Global Communications and other teams to plan and execute work that aligns with group priorities, delivering high-quality work on time and on budget. Conceptualize campaign vision, advise on and develop creative content for USP’s website, social media, and other communications channels. Develop creative that elevates presence through innovative design, including animation, motion graphics, and compelling visual storytelling. Manage production, approval, feedback, quality, delivery, and dissemination of design products for cross-organization use. Establish a unified brand understanding, strengthen brand standards, and develop templates adhering to brand guidelines. Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist in implementing tools to support design operations; stay updated on design trends and stakeholder needs. Support day-to-day needs of a busy department, including independent project management, reviewing content, and coordinating resources; assist in design, photography, and videography as needed. Work Schedule and Location

This is a part-time position, approximately 20 hours per week. Scheduling should span at least four weekdays to support collaboration and project continuity. The role follows a hybrid model, with onsite at USP’s Rockville, MD headquarters at least two days per week. Remote work is permitted for the remaining schedule, subject to team needs and supervisor approval. Who is USP Looking For?

The successful candidate will demonstrate understanding of USP’s mission, commitment to excellence through inclusive and equitable behaviors, and ability to quickly build credibility with stakeholders. Required competencies and experience include: Blend of artistic, marketing, brand, and communications expertise to convey USP’s value to stakeholders. Ten or more years of professional design experience across digital and print, overseeing large multi-channel campaigns. Expertise with design software: Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop); working knowledge of Adobe Premiere and/or Premiere Rush; familiarity with Canva and Microsoft Office products. Exceptional typography, layout, and prototyping skills. Collaborative mindset with the ability to align diverse teams with organizational objectives. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent industry experience) in graphic design. Experience as an art director. Experience in web development and social media. Knowledge of photography and video production/editing. Experience implementing or using a digital asset management system. Benefits

Base Salary Range (based on a 20-hour work week): USD $62,000.00 – $78,750.00 annually. Target annual bonus varies by role level. Individual compensation packages are based on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, equity, and other job-related considerations.
