Senior Accounting Manager

to oversee all financial operations and ensure compliance with corporate, government, and regulatory standards. This role is central to managing the company’s accounting infrastructure, reporting cycles, program cost controls, and cash flow, while enabling strategic growth across Aery’s Aerospace and Defense portfolio. The position partners closely with Operations, Program Management, Business Development, and senior leadership to deliver accurate, timely, and actionable financial insights. Key Responsibilities

Direct and manage the Accounting & Finance Department, ensuring compliance with GAAP, FAR, CAS, and DCAA requirements. Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closes within established timelines (10-day monthly, 20-day quarterly, 30-day annual). Prepare and present consolidated financial statements, cash flow forecasts, project P&Ls, and variance analyses to senior management and the Board. Oversee the preparation of workpapers supporting annual audits, tax returns, and incurred cost submissions. Develop and maintain a robust chart of accounts and reporting structure for corporate and program-level financials. Government Contracting & Compliance

Ensure financial practices comply with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and other government requirements. Lead the preparation of annual indirect rate calculations and Incurred Cost Submissions (ICS). Monitor program-level cost performance and provide regular reporting to Program Managers and Operations. Support equitable adjustments, pricing models, and cost proposals for new and modified government contracts. Maintain audit-ready documentation and liaise with DCAA/DCMA during audits. Budgeting, Forecasting & Analytics

Lead annual operating and capital budgeting processes at both corporate and departmental levels. Develop rolling forecasts and cash management strategies to ensure liquidity and covenant compliance. Partner with Program Management to align financial forecasts with project milestones and contract deliverables. Implement KPI dashboards and financial analytics to track program profitability, overhead absorption, and labor efficiency. Operational & Strategic Support

Provide financial leadership in support of strategic initiatives, including fleet expansion, MRO facility development, and new program launches. Support capital investment analysis, including ROI, payback, and risk assessments. Enhance automation and digital transformation of financial processes using tools such as Microsoft Dynamics/QuickBooks Online, Power BI, and other reporting systems. Mentor and develop accounting staff, building a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement. Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (Masters preferred). CPA preferred; additional CMA or CGMA a plus. Minimum

8–10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience , including

4+ years in government contracting

(preferably Aerospace & Defense). Proven experience managing indirect rates, government cost accounting, and DCAA audit requirements. Strong knowledge of GAAP, FAR, CAS, and tax compliance. Experience implementing ERP/financial systems with real-time project reporting and KPI dashboards. Skilled in cash flow management, forecasting, and project cost controls. High degree of technological literacy and process improvement orientation. Exceptional communication skills with ability to present complex financial data to executives, boards, and external stakeholders. Performance Measures

Maintains full compliance with FAR, CAS, and DCAA audit requirements. Produces accurate and actionable program-level financial reporting within agreed timelines. Improves cash forecasting accuracy and strengthens working capital management. Enhances automation and efficiency of financial processes. Develops and retains a high-performing finance team. Annual Training & Compliance

Minimum

20 hours annually

in FAR & CAS compliance training. Minimum

10 hours annually

in GAAP/financial reporting updates. Annual Ethics and Professional Standards training. Seniority level
