Tax Manager | Public Accounting | Remote
An established and growing public accounting firm based in Tennessee is hiring a Tax Manager to lead complex tax engagements and serve as a trusted advisor to clients. This is a key leadership role with client-facing responsibilities and staff oversight. The ideal candidate has deep technical knowledge, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is passionate about delivering proactive tax strategies—not just compliance. Why You’ll Want This Role
Strategic leadership opportunity with a direct path to senior leadership Hands-on client advisory and planning Tight-knit team and culture built on clarity, ownership, and results Remote work (candidate must live in the Southeast U.S. and be able to travel to Franklin, TN) What You’ll Do
Manage tax engagements from planning to delivery Review complex returns (1040, 1120S, 1065, 1041, 709, etc.) Advise clients on estate, gift, and trust planning Provide ongoing strategic tax guidance throughout the year Supervise and mentor staff-level team members Collaborate with audit and CFO advisory teams Stay updated on tax law changes and ensure CPE/licensing compliance Requirements
Active CPA or EA license (required) 5–7+ years of public accounting experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role Technical strength in trust and estate taxation Strong client communication and relationship-building skills Proficient in UltraTax, ProConnect, QuickBooks, Excel Experience with practice management tools like Karbon, Jetpack, or Canopy (a plus) Benefits
