Managing Director, Head of Quantitative Research and Chief Investment Risk Officer

is seeking an executive for the role of Chief Investment Risk Officer (CIRO) and Head of Quantitative Research in Newark, NJ. This is a hybrid position and involves leading investment risk, overseeing the quantitative research group, and co-managing the portfolio analysis group. What You Will Do

Identify and manage market and credit risks; oversee proprietary modeling development; and supervise quantitative research staff. Improve risk management analytics and collaborate with the Technology Solutions Group to deliver portfolio risk and analytic tools. Lead a team, requiring strong leadership, mentoring, and relationship-building, with engagement to clients to share insights into PGIM’s risk function and capabilities. Oversee the portfolio analysis group (PAG), supporting investment processes by evaluating portfolio positioning, construction insights, and performance attribution across multiple products and processes. Report to the Head of PGIM Public and Private Fixed Income. What You Will Bring

Deep knowledge of public and private fixed income markets and independent information channels to structure portfolios and allocate assets for strong risk-adjusted returns. Experience as a senior investment risk officer at a fixed income asset management firm, hedge fund, or fixed income division of a bank. Experience managing risk or quantitative research across a global, multi-location firm with international products. Ability to work with desk heads/portfolio managers while maintaining intellectual independence and strong relationships. Experience partnering with regulatory affairs and understanding the impact of regulatory changes on the business. Strong management experience leading teams of senior and junior professionals with a track record of mentoring others. Entrepreneurial, hands-on management style to build and enhance the existing quantitative research and risk management structure. Strategic and tactical thinking with the ability to manage a diverse group of employees and communicate with clients as a thought leader in public and private fixed income. Prudential is required by state-specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range is $300,000 to $375,000, with variation based on location, candidate experience, and skills.
