(Nasdaq: STRR) is a diversified holding company that seeks to build long-term shareholder value by acquiring, managing, and growing businesses with strong fundamentals and market opportunities. Its current structure comprises four divisions: Building Solutions, Business Services, Energy Services, and Investments. The Summer Analyst will be required to handle a diverse set of projects spanning the private equity, investing, corporate finance, corporate strategy, and hedge fund arenas. These projects will involve matters pertaining to the public company, its operating businesses, its investment fund, and potential M&A or investment opportunities. M&A could involve bolt-on targets for an existing operating business or entry into an entirely new business segment. The Summer Analyst will report directly to the Analyst Team and regularly work with the EVP of Finance. Responsibilities The Summer Analyst will be responsible for assisting the Star Equity team with the following: Mergers, acquisitions, & dispositions (research, due diligence, analysis, and execution) Equity research for the internal investment fund Capital allocation (analysis of internal investments) Financial modeling and budgeting Preparation of board meeting materials Preparation of various press releases, presentations, and case studies Market/industry research Suggested or Preferred Requirements Pursuing a degree with a concentration in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or Business preferred Prior internship experience in the financial industry, including private equity or asset management a plus Minimum GPA of 3.5 Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
