Overview
We are seeking a motivated Financial & Systems Analyst to support our finance and accounting operations while helping improve financial systems and processes. This role blends financial analysis with technology-driven process improvement to ensure accurate reporting, efficient workflows, and reliable decision-making support. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in financial principles, enjoys working with data, and is eager to learn new tools and systems. This position is based in Rockville, MD 5 days/week. Responsibilities
Collect, organize, and analyze financial data to prepare accurate reports. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles. Help monitor company performance metrics and highlight trends or discrepancies. Work with accounting staff on reconciliations, general ledger support, and compliance with GAAP and FAR/DCAA requirements. Support the use and optimization of financial systems including Deltek Vantagepoint and Microsoft Dynamics. Create dashboards and reports in Power BI to track KPIs and financial performance. Assist with automating workflows using Power Automate and other tools to reduce manual effort. Help document financial processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and accuracy. Collaborate with IT and Finance teams to troubleshoot system issues and support integrations. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field. 2-4 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or systems/process improvement (internships or co-op experience welcome). Familiarity with financial ERP systems (Deltek, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar). Hands-on experience with Power BI, Excel, or automation tools is a plus. Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze data for accuracy. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Eagerness to learn and grow in both financial and systems-focused areas.
