Sr. Tax Accountant
handles the preparation and review of income tax compliance, maintains and reconciles tax accounts, and participates in various tax projects. Senior Tax Accountant Job Description Prepare and review federal and multi-state income and franchise tax returns, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission, supported by detailed workpapers. Prepare and review the filing and payment of all quarterly income and franchise tax liabilities. Prepare and review federal and multi-state income tax provisions and internal reporting in an accurate and timely manner. Maintain, review, and reconcile all tax accounts, including tax expense, accruals, forecasts, and both current and deferred income tax provisions for planning and compliance purposes. Conduct moderate tax research to stay updated on tax law and compliance changes, minimizing exposure to federal and state income/franchise tax risks. Assist Tax Director with tax planning opportunities, ensuring alignment and effective strategy implementation. Communicate tax and compliance issues and opportunities effectively to Tax Director. Assist in audits and respond to notices and requests from federal and state taxing authorities related to income and franchise tax returns. Participate in various tax projects and assist with property, business license, and other tax matters and reporting as needed. Support the management, review, and development of less experienced tax professionals and track tax payments and filing deadlines. Qualifications And Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required 3+ years related experience Experience must include either one to two years of tax compliance experience for a large multinational manufacturing company, or two years of experience in the tax group of a public accounting firm.
