Position Summary The Paralegal will be an integral part of the Legal Department, providing substantive support for, and independent work on, a range of matters including general civil litigation; corporate, commercial, and real estate transactions; and legal operations issues. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional and self-starter with a range of experience in one or more of the Department's primary practice areas: Real Estate, Mergers & Acquisitions, Labor & Employment, Commercial Contracts, Litigation, SEC and Corporate Governance, and Privacy. The ideal candidate will also have a combination of private practice, government, and in-house experience. This position is located in San Jose, CA.
Essential Functions
Transactional Drafting: draft general real estate, commercial, and corporate forms, like Rights of Entry, Licenses, Easements, Leases, Deeds, MSAs, SOWs and NDAs.
Matter Management: organize, manage, and maintain files for litigation, real estate, corporate, and general legal matters.
Transaction Support: organize, summarize, and synthesize legal due diligence for real estate and corporate transactions; coordinate and manage escrows.
Litigation Support: track litigation hold and preservation notices; draft standard demand and cease and desist letters; maintain litigation calendars; organize and coordinate responses to document requests, subpoenas, and other records requests in connection with civil, administrative, and criminal investigations or proceedings.
Research: research federal, state, and local statutes, codes, ordinances, and cases; conduct factual or basic research using commercial and public databases; conduct title and real property research.
Operations: assist with outside counsel engagements and outside counsel billing; contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Performs work on-site in the assigned office location

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree with paralegal certificate
8+ years of experience
Highly organized
Strong attention to detail
Exceptional time management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Positive "can-do" attitude
Proven ability to handle complex and highly confidential matters with discretion
Independent self-starter
Willing to embrace technology to promote efficient operations
Strong command of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word
Familiarity with Lexis Nexis or Westlaw
Notary Public License a plus
