Overview

Lead Continuous Improvement Engineer - Start-ups (remote) at Ryder System, Inc. This role supports the Ryder Continuous Improvement culture across the business by actively applying continuous improvement methods to support new and existing operations. The Lead Engineer will identify, lead and drive change within the operation through data driven CI, Engineering, and Automation efforts to deliver higher levels of performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost and growth. This position may manage CI resources and reports to the CI Manager/Sr. CI Manager and is closely aligned with a General Manager or Director of Operations. Summary This position interfaces with employees at all levels and functions across the operation and is focused on leveraging data analytics, engineering methodologies, and Ryder lean tools to enable root cause identification and elimination. Essential Functions

Collects data and performs statistical analysis. Maps and documents processes. Identifies process gaps; recommends and implements process improvement. Develops and executes a thorough continuous improvement plan to drive value for customers (transformation plan development and execution). Drives process improvement activities to achieve tangible improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee development. Manages and completes high-impact CI projects across the operation that lead to improved business results. Assesses CI initiatives and provides input on future activities. Supports start-ups, retrofits and expansions including pricing inputs, go-live and steady-state certifications. Identifies and supports automation projects. Regularly interacts with account management and/or customers. Demonstrates competency in a wide range of engineering methods, Lean tools, and quality standards; coaches employees in CI, QA, and Lean principles. Applies methodologies/tools such as product slotting, time studies, layouts, data profiling and analysis, and resource modeling to improve distribution and transportation operations. May supervise CI engineering and quality professionals. With manager guidance participates in employment decisions and manages performance. Facilitates and executes Value Stream Maps and Kaizen Events through all stages; coaches process owners on lean methods to achieve operational excellence. Provides regular reports of data and actions to measure progress against site objectives. Makes inventory and/or supply chain strategy recommendations. Additional Responsibilities

Designs, implements, monitors and maintains the QMS based on established standards. Implements and monitors a standardized corrective action system. Supports regulatory compliance and certification requirements. Performs all functions related to Quality Assurance for a start-up or expansion. Performs other duties as assigned. Skills And Abilities

Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio (expert). Data visualization (PowerBI, Tableau) and database programming (SQL, DAX) (intermediate preferred). Proficiency in Leader Standard Work, Visual Management Systems, PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S/Workplace Organization (intermediate required). Understanding of core engineering and data analysis functions (slotting, utilization, labor planning, layouts, metrics) (advanced required). Warehouse design tools (CAD e.g., AutoCAD; Slot3D), MOST, Manhattan Scale, and related systems (advanced preferred). Knowledge of Warehouse Management operations, data analytics, Lean methods, and automation solutions (advanced preferred). Lean Six Sigma, cPMP, ISO/QMS, APICS/Supply Chain certifications (preferred). Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain) with seven or more years' related experience, or Master’s degree with five years related experience; MBA with engineering undergraduate degree acceptable. Advanced understanding of core engineering and data analysis functions (slotting, utilization, labor planning, layouts, metrics). Experience with warehouse design tools and WMS systems; knowledge of automation solutions (advanced preferred). Lean Six Sigma; certifications such as cPMP, ISO/QMS; APICS or related supply chain certifications (preferred). Travel

The compensation offered may be influenced by experience, education, location, and market data. The position may be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentives. Pay ranges: Min 100000, Max 120000. Salaried. Benefits Information
