Director, Sexual Health Services and PrEP Operations

Overview
Director, Sexual Health Services and PrEP Operations leads the development, implementation and management of APLA Health’s sexual health services and PrEP navigation services. This position is responsible for the oversight of HIV testing, STD screening and treatment, PrEP navigation, and outreach to attract patients to all sexual health services, and for ensuring smooth integration of these services into all APLA Health clinics. This role ensures that all sexual health programming is in alignment with APLA Health’s harm reduction philosophy. Responsibilities
Provide supervisory duties to program staff including, but not limited to: hiring, training, and conducting employee evaluations. Dispense disciplinary action up to and including termination of program staff; approve time off/vacation requests. Develop training plans, yearly program objectives/goals, and monitor program budgets; set yearly goals and objectives. Develop and implement workflows for sexual health services within all APLA Health clinics, in coordination with senior leadership. Integrate appropriate technology into patient experience to streamline services and improve patient satisfaction, in coordination with IT. Supervise PrEP navigation staff; ensure collaboration and communication between non-clinical and clinical PrEP staff. Develop and run reports to aid in program tracking, evaluation and improvement. Coordinate with Clinic Directors and Enrollment and Eligibility Manager to align front office workflows ( intake, benefits screening, check-in, checkout) related to sexual health services. Stay informed of advances in sexual health policy, medications, and treatments; evaluate feasibility of incorporating changes into APLA Health protocols in collaboration with senior clinical leadership. Develop staff trainings/in-services; ensure ongoing clinical staff education in collaboration with nursing leadership. Collaborate with Health Operations Analyst and Access Manager to ensure accurate data entry and transmission in REDCap and related systems. Collaborate with Director of Pharmacy and Medication Coordination Manager to implement workflows for Injectable PrEP. Ensure compliance with OSHA, and local, state and federal regulations; ensure grant and contract compliance and reporting for sexual health programs. Requirements and Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Public Health or related field and three years’ operational management experience in a clinic or hospital; or a Bachelor’s Degree and five years’ operational management experience in a clinic or hospital. A minimum of four years’ experience in sexual health including STD screening and treatment, and PrEP/PEP navigation and treatment; experience working in patient-centered care teams preferred; previous supervisory experience required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or Ryan White CARE Act clinic experience a plus. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of electronic health records; eClinicalWorks preferred. Ability to provide services in a non-judgmental fashion and work effectively with diverse populations; maintain records and follow clinical guidelines/protocols. Ability to work efficiently, complete tasks accurately, solve problems independently, and adapt to flexible hours to meet client needs. Working Conditions
This is primarily an office position with occasional bending, reaching, stooping, lifting and moving of office materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Daily use of a personal computer and data entry/management required. Special Requirements
Must possess a valid California driver’s license; proof of auto liability insurance; and have the use of a personal vehicle for work-related purposes.
