A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A YOUTH DEVELOPMENT TEEN PROGRAM MANAGER As a Teen Program Manager, you are responsible for effectively planning and executing our nonprofit's daily teen programs. You coordinate our programs’ many moving parts to ensure we create the best possible environment for our members. Working with your team, you plan and implement positive activities that promote development in areas such as the arts, technology, physical education, and social recreation. You coordinate monthly birthday celebrations and Fun Fact Fridays and implement club programs. You develop collaborative partnerships with employees, volunteers, members, parents, other Clubs and other nonprofits to establish professional links within the community. You strategically assign staff members to lead programs according to their interests and skills, providing additional training when necessary. You assist with the recruitment, interviewing, hiring and training process of Teen Development employees and volunteers, and ensure everyone has the proper licenses. During programs, you observe activities to ensure everything runs smoothly. If a staff member needs assistance, you help handle the situation. You conduct regular staff checks to ensure everyone meets performance metrics and maintains a good attendance record. You measure the success of programs by comparing outcomes to target goals and use this information to improve future activities. The safety of our members and staff is the number one priority, so you are always on the lookout for hazards or dangerous situations. You ensure every employee follows our safety policies and guidelines, intervening quickly if you notice a problem. You attend regular training to stay current and become the best resource for our members. You take pride in performing this program management role and making a difference in children’s lives. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A YOUTH DEVELOPMENT TEEN PROGRAM MANAGER
21+ years old First Aid and CPR certification Associate degree OR 3+ years of combined education, training, and experience in a nonprofit organization involved in youth development or secondary education 1+ year of supervised work experience or one practicum OR an equivalent combination of education and experience Experience working with youth aged 5 - 18 Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management Valid driver's license Willingness to comply with company policy regarding background checks Do you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills? Are you a creative thinker full of fresh ideas? Can you effectively prioritize multiple tasks? Are you highly observant and detail-oriented? Do you have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills? Are you great at time management and task delegation? If yes, you might be perfect for this program management role!
