The AWS Global Energy Team is seeking a candidate to own a high‑impact carbon free energy program across Amazon’s global data centers and other infrastructure. This role supports powering operations with Carbon Free Energy as part of the goal to reach net zero by 2040, by owning the development of programs and products that deliver insights to drive decarbonization. The specialist will collaborate with stakeholders from AWS Infrastructure teams to facilitate strategy, drive process improvements, and support business development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organizational skills and a passion for producing high-quality work. The position involves direct contact with senior leaders and business partners, and requires a professional demeanor and effective communication at all levels internal and external.
Responsibilities
Manage Amazon’s global carbon free energy procurement programs across business units.
Support design of innovative energy strategies to minimize cost and risk and enable Carbon Free Energy (CFE).
Drive process improvements to streamline execution of energy procurement activities.
Design metrics for energy programs globally by collaborating with senior Energy Procurement Managers, Finance partners, and senior leaders.
Lead development of reporting and insights that distill complex data into actionable information to drive business strategy.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Energy, Engineering, Information Science, Management, or similar field.
3+ years in a program or product management role.
Proven experience diving deep into data, processes, people, and systems to simplify complex problems.
Proven track record partnering with business owners to understand requirements and delivering cross‑functional solutions.
Masters or MBA in a related field.
2+ years of experience in the energy, utilities, renewables, or sustainability industry.
Experience leading initiatives related to renewables or sustainability projects, power procurement, infrastructure development, or data center planning.
Ability to interface effectively with senior leadership, suppliers, and customers.
