Sr Product Owner at Southwest Airlines. The Senior Product Owner supports the Baker Network Optimizer and translates operational requirements into technical solutions, while simplifying complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences and ensuring documentation of intricate designs. The role involves owning initiatives from conception to implementation to help drive the future of Southwest. Responsibilities
Provide innovation and end-to-end launch of integrated solutions/products across multiple Agile Teams Collaborate with Business Partners and Product Managers to co-develop a roadmap and drive products/features from concept to launch in a fast-paced environment Work with senior stakeholders and customers to inform product vision, strategy, features, and prioritization Translate roadmap features into well-defined product requirements, including features, user stories, and acceptance criteria Turn data insights into actionable products for the customer Oversee design, construction, and implementation of integrated solutions ensuring business requirements are met Coach and mentor other Product Owners across multiple Agile Teams to build and maintain backlogs Review and drive iteration content by prioritizing user stories and accepting completed stories Define and prioritize solutions to complex issues, communicating dependencies, risks, and issues Coach and mentor Product Owners and Scrum Masters in Scrum ceremonies May perform other duties as directed Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to make decisions independently and mentor other Product Owners Understanding of technical issues across multiple systems and business interactions Analytical with attention to detail Proactive in anticipating risks and opportunities and mentoring others Strong presentation, facilitation, communication, and negotiation skills Focus on business value, ROI, risks, and opportunity management Ability to manage complex, ill-defined tasks Ability to balance priority, risk, value, and dependencies using product/backlog management Ability to communicate complex problems, risks, progress, or ideas to diverse stakeholders and influence direction Knowledge of industry trends and technologies to provide product guidance Expertise in Agile practices and enterprise application of Agile Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or similar, or equivalent advanced experience Experience
Required: Advanced-level experience with Agile/Scrum, business analysis, project management, or software development delivering enterprise products Preferred: Knowledge/experience with SAFe and SAFe Product Owner practices Preferred: Experience with Agile/Scrum software development Preferred: Experience with Jira Align, Jira (or Azure DevOps), Git, Confluence, and Aptio Other Qualifications
U.S. citizenship or work authorization required Must be at least 18 years of age Must be able to travel for business as necessary Pay & Benefits
Competitive market salary from $116,350 - $129,300 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Additional bonus opportunities may be available at the discretion of the Company.
