The State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation (DOT) is seeking a Visitor Information Program Assistant II. The successful applicant will be responsible for greeting, welcoming, and assisting the traveling public in providing information of interest relative to hotels and other accommodations, ground and air transportation, tourist attractions, and activities. The Visitor Information Program Assistant II will also be required to speak a designated foreign language while conversing with the traveling public and others, and provide interpreter services as needed. Responsibilities

Greet and assist the traveling public Provide information on accommodations, transportation, and attractions Speak a designated foreign language and provide interpreter services Qualifications

Experience demonstrating the ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions A high degree of verbal skill Progressively responsible experience demonstrating patience, tact, and an even temper in meeting and dealing with others Ability to speak one of the following languages in addition to English: Japanese, Mandarin, Korean, Tagalog, Hawaiian, Samoan Valid driver's license The State of Hawaii complies with federal and state disability laws and makes reasonable accommodations for applicants and employees with disabilities.
