Overview
Savannah Lakes Village is home to two semi private 18-hole golf courses. We were established in 1989 and are located approximately 35 miles from Augusta, Georgia. Our Tara Golf Course plays to 7,002 yards on TifEagle Bermuda Greens, and our Monticello Golf Course plays to 7,032 yards on Mini Verde Bermuda Greens. Responsibilities
The Director of Golf Maintenance reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer/GM and is responsible for the operation of assigned areas and activities at all times and in all matters in accordance with the published rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the SLV POA. Duties include but not limited to: golf course maintenance, supervision & training of staff, purchasing responsibility, budgeting, irrigation system management, plant protectant and fertilizer applications, and maintenance of flower gardens, trees, and ornamental plantings. Looking for an individual with a great attitude and desire to enhance our team. This individual will need experience and a desire & motivation to learn and work within our team’s framework. Must have the ability, skills and sufficient educational background, normally an associate degree in Agronomy, turfgrass and/or landscape management or in a related field, and/or actual experience to administer the golf course maintenance program. Must currently hold a Class A certification. Must have a current South Carolina pesticide license. Should have a minimum of two (2) years actual experience as a Director of Golf Maintenance at a resort or private club setting or in a similar or related field. Requires knowledge in maintenance principles, practices and methods and a thorough understanding of the rules and strategies of the game of golf. Requires knowledge of operation and maintenance of landscaping and irrigation systems. Requires knowledge in planting, seeding, cultivating, pruning and caring for plants, shrubs, trees and flowers. Requires knowledge and understanding of application of herbicides and pesticides. Requires knowledge of current federal, state and local laws and regulations affecting the management of golf course maintenance operations. Must possess inter-personal skills that will make people feel welcome and reflect favorably on the organization. Requires management training and/or experience in planning, supervision, financial accountability and personnel. Must have the basic computer skills to include spreadsheet and word processing experience. Must be pleasant, well organized, a team player and detail oriented. Must possess a valid drivers’ license, with a three (3) year good driving record. Must be able to lift 50 pounds unaided.
