Head Rowing Coach/Director of Rowing Operations at Two Rivers YMCA. Two Rivers YMCA is searching for a Head Rowing Coach to direct our Championship Y Quad Cities rowing programs/boathouse on the Mississippi Riverfront. This role supports the work of the Two Rivers YMCA, a leading nonprofit organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Head Rowing Coach is responsible for program operations at the Bass Street YMCA-Sylvan Boathouse, overseeing and building the crew team, engaging parents and volunteers, coordinating regattas, and directly overseeing equipment and facility operations at the Bass Street YMCA and Sylvan Boathouse. Position Summary

This position supports the work of the Two Rivers YMCA and directs the rowing programs at the Sylvan Boathouse with emphasis on program operations, coaching, and community engagement. Essential Functions

Ensure programs and services meet community needs by supervising existing activities, establishing new activities, and expanding the program within the community; assist in marketing and distribution of program information. Serve as Head Rowing Coach: teach proper rowing technique, lead practices and conditioning, manage race entries, conduct parent meetings, and coordinate volunteers. Drive a truck with trailer of boats and equipment to regattas during the spring, summer, and fall seasons. Recruit and hire diverse staff and volunteers; onboard and develop them for success. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations; maintain clear, regular communication within the area of responsibility. Manages the program budget to meet fiscal objectives; compile statistics to monitor effectiveness and participation; secure and schedule facilities; plan classes, activities, or events. Maintain a clean and safe environment for participants and equipment; manage water safety, equipment maintenance, storage, transportation, and appropriate staffing. Performs other duties as assigned. Responsible for supervising program participants and acting as a primary responder in emergencies. Responsible for hiring, onboarding, training, reviewing, rewarding, disciplining, and supervising program staff. Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years of competitive rowing coach experience. Level 2 US Rowing Coach certification preferred or able to attain within 90 days of hire. One year of experience loading and transporting rowing shells and driving motorized boats/safety launches during practice. Must have an acceptable driving record to drive for the YMCA. Basic janitorial and facility maintenance knowledge. Extensive knowledge of rowing skills, techniques, safety, and teaching. Within 3 months of hire, completion of CPR, First Aid, AED for infant/child/adult, Bloodborne Pathogens, Illinois Harassment training, and other training as assigned. Valid Driver’s License and Car Insurance. Previous budget responsibility of at least $50k of revenue preferred. Work Environment & Physical Demands

Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly, up to 100 pounds frequently, and over 100 pounds occasionally. Visual requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision; ability to adjust. Noise level typically moderate to loud. Outdoor and indoor activities in various weather conditions; ability to supervise program activities. Remain alert and attentive at all times. Compensation Information

Starting Salary Range: $50,000-$65,000 Competitive benefits: health, dental, life insurance; YMCA program and childcare discounts; 12% retirement upon eligibility. Job Details
