The VP, Alternative Programming will report to and work with the EVP, Alternative Programming at Universal Television Alternative Studio. Essential Responsibilities
Work and collaborate with networks, 3rd party production companies and producers on development, casting, creative, formats, budgets, calendars, production and post-production plans. Oversee day-to-day management of pilots and series, managing several series at once. Identify trends and pursue IP opportunities for projects in development. Find, develop, and pitch new material to studio leadership. Operate as the studio executive on the set of productions. Watch and note cuts on pilots and series. Create and build new relationships, as well as maintain existing relationships with production companies, producers and network executives that currently work with or will work with Universal Television Alternative Studio. Qualifications
Basic Requirements: Minimum 10 years work experience in the television industry. Minimum 10 years work experience in a current production capacity. Experience in multiple alternative genres including documentaries, true crime and docuseries. Desired Characteristics: Experience in alternative programming as a studio or network executive with hands-on production experience, ideally from both a current and development standpoint. Exhibit flexibility, excellent communication skills and relationship building ability. Assertive, enthusiastic, positive, and highly motivated self-starter. Creative and passionate. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative, and high energy environment. Team player with ability to work with others and collaborate to achieve goals. Flexibility and an ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Additional Requirements: Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. The position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and other discounts and perks. Salary range: $190,000 - $250,000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible). Additional Information
