General Superintendent . Our Team Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) is an engineering/construction company headquartered in Katy, TX with an expertise in the natural gas, natural gas liquids, and petrochemical industries. OPD is part of the larger Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) organization which provides a variety of capabilities across many industries. Originally incorporated in 1980, OPD has developed a strong reputation for honesty, integrity, and ability to successfully execute projects. What You Will Do Some core responsibilities for a General Superintendent include: Allocate general and daily work responsibilities to all craft supervisors so that project schedule goals can be met. Plan/look-ahead to identify potential needs and deficiencies that could negatively impact the construction schedule. Be able to adjust plans as needed due to weather, unexpected delays, or emergencies. Ensure that all supervisors are properly training their crews on the tasks and equipment they will be using. Participate and lead a strong safety culture at the jobsite. Perform the role of tie-in coordinator as needed by project demands. Ensure pressure testing of systems is executed in accordance with the project's pressure testing plan. Coordinate and track schedule of activities to avoid conflicts between OPD crafts and sub-contractors. Provide feedback to Construction Manager and Logistics Manager about sub-contractors' work performance. We Expect All Field Employees To
Actively participate in a strong safety culture Recognize safety hazards and risks Participate in onsite safety meetings Follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures Be aware of changing conditions on an active jobsite Be on time to the jobsite each day ready for work Display a positive attitude and be able to work in a team environment High attention to detail to avoid reworks and errors Some Physical Demands Of Being a General Superintendent Include
Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold. Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 60 lbs Standing for extended periods of time up to 11 hours per day. Moving the entire body. Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and/or tools. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Experience managing some or all project requirements from start-up to mechanical completion. Knowledge and proven ability to drive safety and compliance culture to expected outcomes or better. Experience in an Oil and Gas construction environment. Experience of direct interaction with on-site and corporate clients. Experience working in a specific craft (i.e. piping, welding, civil). Proven history of meeting stringent deadlines. Other Job Requirements
Travel is a must with extended periods away from home in remote areas at times. Must be willing and able to work shifts up to 12 hours per day and 7 days per week Must be willing and able to meet all physical demands of the job Must be able and willing to attend mandatory safety meetings Must be a safety role model What Will Put You Ahead
Experience in a heavy industrial, petroleum-chemical, or LNG construction turnkey environment. Experience developing supervisors and employees.
