The State Highway Administration (SHA) is recruiting for the Transportation Engineer I - Design Track.

This position is located in Baltimore City, Hanover, or SHA District Offices statewide and is open to anyone who meets the minimum qualifications listed below. This announcement may also be used for future vacancies throughout the state of Maryland for SHA. Nature of Work

Transportation Engineer I in this track may assist in design-related functions, including: meeting project goals, developing alternatives, attending public meetings, evaluating design criteria against project constraints, performing constructability reviews, reviewing and designing roadway plans, performing construction inspection for proposed roadway improvement projects, providing traffic/travel demand information, and conducting or reviewing traffic engineering analysis. Possession of a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or transportation engineering from an accredited college or university. Experience

None required. Note

Persons currently registered as Professional Engineers in the State of Maryland, or in a state with comparable requirements, are considered to have met the education requirements. Application materials
