Insomniac - Senior Product Designer (UI/UX & Interactive) (6 Month Contract)
We are seeking a highly skilled digital designer to lead the redesign of Insomniac.com, our festival properties template, and the Insomniac App. This 6-month contract focuses on visually stunning, interactive, and user-centered design while collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams. The role requires strong visual design sensibility, fluency in UI/UX best practices, and the ability to create high-fidelity, interactive prototypes. Experience in motion design or animation for micro-interactions and immersive storytelling is strongly preferred.
Overview Insomniac produces immersive music festivals and events globally. The company emphasizes high-energy, fan-centric experiences, with a focus on digital design that reflects the immersive nature of its live events.
Responsibilities
Own and drive the end-to-end visual and interactive design process across web and mobile platforms
Develop scalable UI systems and design patterns to ensure consistency and usability across Insomniacs digital ecosystem
Create high-fidelity prototypes and interactive elements that enhance user engagement
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to align design strategy with business and user needs
Work within responsive and adaptive design frameworks to create seamless experiences across devices
Ensure all designs align with brand identity, accessibility best practices, and modern UX principles
Leverage animation and motion design to create interactive and immersive user experiences
Design fluid micro-interactions and gesture-based navigation (swipes, taps, long presses) for the Insomniac App
Optimize in-app purchasing and ticketing flows to ensure a seamless checkout experience
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in UI/UX, visual design, and interactive design for web and mobile applications
Agency experience preferred with a track record of delivering high-quality digital designs under tight timelines
Expertise in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools (Framer, ProtoPie, After Effects, etc.)
Strong portfolio showcasing visually compelling interactive experiences, UI systems, and motion/animation work
Experience designing for entertainment, music, or experiential brands is a plus
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
Work Environment
Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels and busy environments
Must be able to adapt to various temperatures and climates
Must be willing to work during evening and weekend hours as required to meet deadlines
Pay Rate Pay Rate Range: $100.00/hr – $150.00/hr USD
