The anticipated salary range for this position is $90,300.00 - $167,700.00 USD annual. The actual compensation offered may vary based on job related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.
Job Summary The Sr Category Manager, Indirect Procurement – will lead the sourcing, negotiation, and management of technology-related goods and services—including hardware, software, cloud solutions, telecom, and IT services. This role requires a highly skilled, adaptable, and motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering measurable value to the organization. Information Technology will manage assigned categories, suppliers, and spend to meet internal stakeholder needs. Value of spend managed typically would be in the $100 Million to $150 Million range and/or may include a large number of suppliers (200+). Utilizing a structured sourcing process, handles category sourcing, contract negotiations, and seeks opportunities for strategic partnerships to enable growth and ensure continuity of business. Provides technical direction, advice, and counsel on a wide array of procurement issues, bringing broad depth and breadth of experience to handle buying in complex and/or rapidly changing marketplaces.
Responsibilities
Lead sourcing, negotiation, and management of IT-related goods and services across hardware, software, cloud, telecom, and IT services.
Manage assigned categories, suppliers, and spend to meet internal stakeholder needs.
Utilize a structured sourcing process; conduct category sourcing and contract negotiations; pursue opportunities for strategic partnerships.
Provide technical direction, advisory support on procurement issues, and manage buying in complex/rapidly changing marketplaces.
Develop risk analyses, assessments and mitigation plans for categories of spend; manage supplier network to meet short- and long-range needs.
Prepare and execute annual supplier business reviews; contribute to Procurement Savings initiatives through negotiations, sourcing changes, or specification changes.
Engage stakeholders to develop and lead supplier relationships for value in cost, security of supply, risk management, sustainability and innovation; manage supplier performance and evaluations.
Understand and interpret legal contract documents related to purchasing terms, indemnification, and intellectual property ownership.
Forecast price and availability information for assigned categories and integrate into business strategy and decision-making.
Maintain knowledge of corporate policies and applicable laws/regulations to ensure compliant purchasing activities.
Qualifications
Develop strategic approaches for indirect procurement categories for the Information Technology Shared Services business.
Develops thorough category strategies to drive value based on business needs, the supply market, spend baseline, evolution and benchmarking; effectively document, communicate and gain buy-in.
Research, select, develop, and maintain sources of supply to meet category requirements with optimum quality, service and cost.
Ability to successfully reach business objectives through supplier negotiations; analyze market and supply dynamics related to supplier proposals.
Leads development of negotiation plans, counterarguments, opening positions, and execution plans.
Maintain long-term supplier relationships and contribute to risk management and sustainability efforts.
Strong communication and collaboration with internal stakeholders and leadership.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline
7 or more years of relevant experience in Procurement
Operates with minimal business direction; demonstrated knowledge and experience in procurement processes and driving business results through influence and leadership
Procurement experience in a distribution and/or manufacturing business is a plus
