Where you will work This position offers a hybrid work option (up to 50% remote) and is based out of the Sun Prairie, WI; Onalaska, WI or Rochester, MN office locations.

The contributions you will make This position is responsible for leading a team of sales and relationship managers who develop new crop insurance business and cross-sell Compeer products and services through relationships with current and prospective clients. Creates and executes strategy to develop new business, strengthen relationships with current clients and add unique value to client relationships within the assigned marketplace. Leads team in being the premier provider of insurance products and services to eligible clients.

A typical day Leadership & Team Management

Champions the brand; serves as a role-model for the vision, mission and values of the organization. Supports Compeer’s strategic initiatives.

Communicates business expectations and goals to the team and is responsible for achieving results.

Promotes a client focused, team-based sales strategy to maximize results.

Aligns strategy with other sales leaders to develop cross-selling expectations to promote all applicable products and services to the marketplace

Keeps abreast of industry best practices. Identifies and executes efficient and effective practices that enhance the team’s value.

Recruits, selects, trains, evaluates, compensates, recognizes and motivates team members.

Sales Management and Coaching

Assesses marketplace potential and sets goals for assigned offices and individual sales team members in alignment with Compeer goals.

Develops and executes sales and marketing strategies and plans, including resource and team member needs.

Analyzes the impact of proposed operational and organizational changes and develops plans for optimizing efficiency and coordination of marketplace activity with other departments and functions within Compeer.

Focuses team members on behaviors and activities that lead to desired results.

Effectively identifies, incorporates, and leverages technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness of sales teams and team members.

Coaches team members to improve sales skills through constructive, honest, real-time feedback.

Operational Management

Ensures compliance with organization policies and procedures.

Identifies operational issues that affect client service and satisfaction and develops and recommends potential solutions.

Determines the appropriate means for training and communicating procedural changes and assesses the level of client and team member impact of such changes.

Develops process for monitoring compliance with Compeer procedures.

Travels to offices within the marketplace and team meetings regularly.

Subject Matter Expertise

Identifies, assesses and determines industry, marketplace trends, strategic and operational impact of trends.

Understands crop insurance products and services available through approved insurance providers.

Builds and maintains knowledge and skills sufficient to achieve Compeer goals within area of responsibility.

Stays up to date on crop insurance changes and risk management solutions in the industry.

The skills and experience we prefer you have

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, agribusiness or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.

Advanced experience in the financial services industry.

Advanced leadership and management experience, preferred.

Willing to obtain Property and Casualty License and/or Crop Insurance License.

Knowledge of federal and state (Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin) laws, regulations and compliance requirements specific to the financial industry and Farm Credit.

Leadership skills to select, evaluate, engage, motivate, mentor, train, delegate, reward and lead remote team members.

Agriculture industry and crop insurance industry knowledge.

Base Pay

$115,600 - $175,600 USD
