The Foundation is the largest nonprofit fighting poverty, disease, and inequity worldwide. We partner with people and organizations to tackle critical problems and promote inclusive growth. The role leads support for the Consumer Protection and SupTech portfolio within the Global Growth and Opportunity (GGO) division, focusing on regulatory and policy solutions to consumer protection and market conduct challenges. You will work across the foundation and industry to develop and manage a portfolio of investments aligned with the current Consumer Protection and SupTech strategy. Your Role Lead the Consumer Protection and SupTech portfolio, collaborating with regulators, technologists, standard-setting bodies, and development partners to push next-generation risk mitigation solutions and regulatory approaches. Internal collaboration includes working with FSP’s Regulations Payments Lead and Country Program Officers. Key focus areas Consumer protection topics such as fraud, over-indebtedness, grievance redressal, disclosure, informed consent, literacy, and product suitability. Regulatory tools and data systems for effective market supervision of consumer protection and market conduct. Anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism. Technology capacity building for financial regulators in LMICs. Identify and scale best practices and enable development and adoption of next-generation technology-based risk mitigation solutions. Travel up to 25% may be required domestically and internationally. Reporting and teamwork This role reports to the Deputy Director, Regulation, Research and Policy. It does not have people management responsibilities. Qualifications and Experience Minimum 10 years experience advising financial regulators in LMICs on consumer protection regulations or 10 years as a regulator/policymaker responsible for consumer regulations with demonstrated impact. Knowledge of financial inclusion and consumer protection, data and information systems, and experience guiding large, complex projects. Advanced degree in law, economics, development studies, public policy, business administration, or related fields is preferred. Fluency in English with excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to travel up to 25%. Strong problem-solving, leadership, and collaboration skills with the ability to work across diverse teams and cultures. Experience engaging with senior leadership in both public and private sectors; demonstrated relationship-building and consensus-building abilities. Empathy for the needs of underserved consumers. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands. Salary and Equity Salary range: $169,700 to $254,500 USD (min to max). Seattle and Washington, D.C. ranges: $185,000 to $277,400 USD. Actual placement depends on skills and experience.
