About The Role To achieve its ambition of serving 80,000-100,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven is hiring a Senior Director, New York, who will be responsible for the programmatic success of Braven at The Higher Education Partner (HEP). They will ensure that students who complete Braven's course, the Accelerator at the HEP, are empowered with the skills, confidence, networks, and experiences to secure a strong first job or enroll in graduate school within 6 months of graduation. They maintain a positive and strong presence at the HEP and in the New York City community.
The Senior Director will lead a team of 2-3 full-time employees and a team of part-time interns. They will collaborate with our volunteer recruitment team and select volunteers. Together with the Executive Director (ED), they will build and maintain a positive and strong presence with our school in the New York community. This role is on the Regional New York team and reports directly to the Executive Director (ED) of New York.
What You'll Do
Deliver Site Outcomes (40%)
Oversee and ensure strong local program implementation at the HEP, including pre-course, course, and post-course experiences, to meet programmatic goals
Drive regionally owned program elements, including local programming, learning lab implementation, data collection for job campaigns, etc.
For elements delivered by the central team, serve as a check for school satisfaction and fit with local student needs and campus culture; provide feedback to central teams in a spirit of partnership and continuous improvement
Effectively Manage Stakeholders (40%)
Develop and steward strong partnerships with the HEP's leadership and faculty, employers, and community-based organizations to secure resources for students and improve the program
Cultivate and manage relationships with key HEP stakeholders to foster collaboration
Act as the "mayor" and "campaign manager" of Braven's relationships with the HEP, deeply understanding the ecosystem and running local campaigns on campus
Build a collaborative team culture aligned with Braven's values and site goals
Create Vision and Strategy for HEP (10%)
Co-create a strategy with the ED for the HEP and drive stakeholders toward the shared vision
Leverage local context to knit together a strategy that provides programmatic and enrollment support to the campus
Set goals and KPIs for the HEP that drive scale and strong first-opportunity outcomes, aligned with Braven's priorities
Team Leadership and Management (10%)
Lead and manage the Program Staff
Provide organization-wide leadership within the One Braven Group
Cultural stewardship of Braven's core values
Other duties as assigned
Requirements Minimum Requirements
BS/BA
At least 7 years of leadership experience with a verifiable track record of successful outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
Prior work experience in higher education, 7-10 years in the non-profit field
Proficiency in Google Suite, Slack, and Jira
Experience in an early-stage environment launching an initiative, program, or team
Experience in managing and developing people and teams with a strong culture
Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills for diverse stakeholders
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Ability to create, operationalize, and manage project plans with milestones
Data-driven mindset to use metrics for decisions and performance
Commitment to building inclusive, welcoming cultures for student Fellows
Alignment with Braven's mission and readiness to work with Braven's student Fellow population

Benefits and Compensation Compensation: $134,800-$168,500 base range, with salary determined by external and internal benchmarking. This is a full-time, exempt, and benefits-eligible position in the New York market.
Unlimited vacation plus holidays and three team-wide shutdowns per year (minimum 24 days/year)
401K match up to 5%
Health insurance premium coverage for employee and dependents (85%)
12 weeks of paid parental leave
One-month paid sabbatical after 4 years of service

Location Braven gathers in the office Tuesday through Thursday and works remotely Monday and Friday. The role requires living within the New York City region.
