Job Description: Are you a licensed attorney with at least two years of legal experience—ideally in cybersecurity or digital privacy? The Counsel, Tech & Privacy position will support the Technology & Privacy Associate General Counsel in the development, improvement, planning and execution of the privacy and artificial intelligence compliance strategy at Fortune Brands Innovations. Departments of focus for this team include IT, Digital, Connected Products, Product Development, Brand Development/Marketing, and Innovation & Advanced Development. Responsibilities

Support Fortune Brand’s Digital Transformation by assisting the Associate General Counsel in providing counsel to the Chief Digital Officer and digital teams on matters including connected products, artificial intelligence and data privacy. Assist in drafting and revising technology agreements. Act as a liaison between in-house counsel, outside counsel and the business. Conduct legal research of evolving data privacy and artificial intelligence laws, regulations, and guidelines and assess how developments affect the Company’s legal requirements. Maintain a strong working knowledge of evolving privacy, security, artificial intelligence and consumer protection laws relevant to the digital space. Prepare educational privacy and artificial intelligence presentations for business stakeholders, assist in presenting and help increase privacy awareness within the Company. Assist in updating Company terms of use, privacy policy, and other customer-facing documents as well as internal documentation related to privacy and data protection. Stay up to date on the company’s data collection, use and sharing activities and assist in updating data maps accordingly. Assist in responding to data subject requests and complaints. Review new projects and existing processing activities for data protection risks and perform privacy impact assessments where required. Work with business partners to facilitate compliance with internal privacy and data security processes. Lead product compliance initiatives. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business partners, outside counsel and legal department members. Qualifications

Bachelor degree and Juris Doctorate Degree required. 2 years minimum of legal experience. Working knowledge of global cybersecurity and digital privacy laws such as the GDPR, PIPEDA, PIPL, CPRA and CCPA, TCPA and other federal and state privacy or data protection laws. Privacy compliance experience strongly preferred. Big law firm or in-house privacy experience preferred. Privacy and/or data protection-related certification a plus. Skills And Abilities

Possesses sound judgment and a strong ethical framework. Requires creativity, strong analytical and organizational skills. Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to manage outside counsel for cost-effective delivery of legal services. Highly organized multi-tasker capable of handling multiple projects and prioritizing. Team and cross-functional player with ability to collaborate at all levels. Willingness to learn new areas of the law and apply expertise to a dynamic, multi-national company. Additional Information

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $140,000 USD - $220,000 USD. Actual salaries may vary within the range based on factors including education, training, experience, and location. In addition to base salary, employees may participate in an annual bonus plan or a role-based incentive plan.
