GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: You are an integral partner to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Controller. You will partner with key stakeholders on matters related to annual operating budgets, long-term financial planning, financial and budgetary responsibility, and risk management. You are responsible for periodic management reporting for the Museum’s Operating Budget. Primary Responsibilities & Duties

Prepare, implement, and maintain the Museum's multi-year financial plan for both the Met Fifth and Met Cloisters campuses, coordinating to consolidate for the Museum's overall financial plan (operating + capital). Lead the Museum’s annual financial plan adjustment process and the annual budget submission process, establishing timelines, workflows, and guidelines in alignment with the Museum’s strategic goals. Lead the Museum’s twice-annual, bottoms-up periodic variance analysis and forecasts for each department. Develop three consolidated variance analyses and forecasts for current year operating performance. Lead a team of Budget/Financial Analysts to maintain financial models and templates supporting ongoing budget and planning processes. Lead a team of Divisional Finance Managers to ensure alignment on processes, formats and tools. Collaborate with colleagues to develop financial plans for major new initiatives and programs. Partner with Human Resources to maintain the Museum’s comprehensive compensation model (multi-year headcount and fringe benefits assumptions). In partnership with the Controller’s and Investments teams, enhance and integrate operating cash planning and forecasting into the broader planning suite. In partnership with the Controller’s team, develop new financial reporting formats to support managerial decision-making across the Museum with a focus on continuous improvement. Work closely with the Controller’s Office to crosswalk between GAAP financial accounting rules and Met-specific managerial accounting rules. Other duties as assigned. Education & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field, or equivalent work experience. 10 years of progressively comprehensive budget and financial planning leadership experience within a large, complex environment. Thorough working knowledge of finance, fund accounting, and financial reporting analysis. Experience in higher education, healthcare, global non-for-profit or other complex/multi-faceted large corporation is preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage financial data and prepare/oversee budgets and forecasts, with the ability to distinguish operating expenses from capital expenditures. Ability to effectively influence within a complex institutional environment. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Solid understanding of internal control concepts and the implementation of internal control systems in a complex business environment. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with Workday Financials, HR and/or Adaptive Planning is a plus. Familiarity with or interest in learning project planning and project management software, especially JIRA. Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: $200,000.00 – $220,000.00 The advertised pay scale reflects the good faith minimum and maximum salary range for this role and is not a promise of a wage for any specific employee. Compensation offered may depend on factors including experience, education, licensing or qualifications, and other factors. Visa Sponsorship & Location
