Vera Therapeutics (Nasdaq: VERA) is a late clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing treatments for serious immunological diseases. Position Position Summary:

The Senior Director, Human Resources reports to the SVP, Human Resources and partners with the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Regulatory Officer, leadership teams, and employees. This role provides strategic HR support, advises on organizational effectiveness, and drives people initiatives for Vera’s medical, clinical, and regulatory functions. The role will manage a Human Resources Manager with a focus on employee relations.

Responsibilities

Lead the strategic design and global execution of compensation, benefits, and equity programs, aligned with Vera’s medical, clinical, and regulatory goals.

Build and optimize HR operations and systems to enhance performance, scalability, compliance, and user experience.

Develop analytics-driven dashboards for leadership focusing on pay equity, DEI outcomes, and data-informed decision-making.

Champion organizational change initiatives, shaping structures, improving operational efficiency, and elevating leadership alignment.

Advise the CMO and CRO on organization design, leadership development, and change management.

Partner with R&D, Regulatory, and Quality to align HR strategies with scientific and compliance priorities.

Define and implement value-added HR strategies to support medical and regulatory functions.

Establish strategies to attract, develop, and retain highly specialized talent to meet clinical and regulatory growth objectives.

Leverage people analytics to provide insights into workforce trends and inform priorities.

Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence (Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Learning & Development) to deliver integrated solutions.

Manage and resolve complex employee relations matters.

Lead HR initiatives such as performance and development, talent management, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.

Ensure legal compliance (state, country, and regional) by monitoring and implementing requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization appropriately.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.

12+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong background supporting clinical development, medical affairs, or regulatory functions in biotechnology/pharmaceutical organizations preferred.

Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic workforce plans.

Expertise in organizational development, process improvement, and change management.

Proven ability to partner as both an advocate for the business and a model of HR best practices.

Experience managing and mentoring HR professionals.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence through formal and informal channels.

Strong track record in talent management, succession planning, and employee development.

High responsiveness to the needs of senior management, colleagues, and staff.

Knowledge of employment laws and best practices in HR administration.

Ability to manage multiple complex priorities simultaneously.

For this role, the anticipated base pay range is

$250,000 - $280,000 USD .
