Vice President, Risk

SRS Distribution Inc. Position purpose: The Vice President of Risk, reporting to the General Counsel, is responsible for leading the company's risk management program. The VP will possess knowledge of internal business processes, the organization’s industry, and provides solutions for non-insurance-related business risk issues. The role requires a dynamic, proactive, and decisive leader who adapts to change and seeks ways to optimize risk as a competitive advantage. The VP will serve as a key advisor to the General Counsel and other senior leaders, offering insights to support informed decision-making and protect the company’s legal and financial interests. Key Responsibilities
Risk Assessment and Analysis: analyze the impact and likelihood of identified risks, considering potential financial impact; stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and best practices; compile relevant data for benchmarking. Risk Mitigation and Control: develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and controls to reduce identified risks; collaborate with departments to design and implement risk management practices; provide guidance to business units in implementing risk controls and ensuring policy compliance; establish contractual controls as regards indemnification and insurance with manufacturers, suppliers, and installers. Insurance and Claims Management: evaluate insurance options, negotiate terms to ensure adequate coverage at competitive rates; manage insurance claims and coordinate with relevant parties; work with legal to assess contractual and legal risks. Crisis and Business Continuity Planning: identify key vulnerabilities with senior leadership; develop and maintain crisis management plans; coordinate with cross-functional teams to establish business continuity plans including disaster recovery and incident response; conduct drills and provide training to ensure readiness. Reporting and Communication: prepare and present risk reports to senior management; communicate risk information to stakeholders to foster a risk-aware culture; collaborate with auditors and assist regulatory compliance efforts as needed. Direct Manager/Direct Reports: report to the SVP & General Counsel. Travel Requirements: minimal travel as per business needs (up to 10-15%). Working Conditions: typical indoor office environment; any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, risk management, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. 10+ years of experience in risk management, legal compliance, or related field, preferably in a complex, highly regulated industry. Proven experience in a senior leadership role, with a track record of building and managing risk programs. Experience reporting to or supporting a General Counsel or other C-level executive. Professional certifications such as CRM or CPCU are desirable. Work Location and Conditions
