Position Summary
The
VP, Controller
will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for all aspects of the company's accounting operations. This role will oversee the global accounting function, including billing, accounts payable/receivable, collections, general ledger, acquisition accounting, and post-acquisition integration. This individual will build and scale a high-performing accounting team, implement scalable processes and systems, and ensure financial accuracy and compliance across a growing and complex international environment. Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, billing, collections, and revenue recognition. Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Lead accounting and finance aspects of M&A activities, including due diligence, purchase accounting, and post-acquisition integration - often managing multiple acquisitions simultaneously. Develop and implement scalable accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls suitable for a high-growth, global organization. Manage global consolidation and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable international accounting standards. Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, HR, and Business Operations to drive alignment and ensure financial integrity. Mentor, develop, and lead a high-performing, geographically dispersed accounting team. Provide strategic insights and financial guidance to executive leadership and the Board. Prepare for and manage annual audits and liaise with external auditors and other advisors. Ensure compliance with PE-backed reporting requirements, including timely and accurate financial reporting and KPI tracking. Qualifications
CPA required. 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior
Controllership
experience. Experience in
Private Equity-backed
environments is strongly preferred. Deep understanding of
SaaS revenue models
and
software industry
accounting standards (ASC 606). Proven experience in a
global company
with international entities and operations. Demonstrated success scaling accounting functions in a
high-growth , fast-paced environment. Track record of leading and executing
multiple M&A integrations
in a single year. Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and growing accounting teams. Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and familiarity with international accounting practices. Systems-savvy with experience implementing or optimizing ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and geographies.
