Our NYC client is looking for a Senior Designer to execute the design development process for young contemporary knits/athleisure. Must have strong product development skills, and direct the team with the newest trends meeting the market needs.
Responsibilities
Identify and research trend development and design direction for young contemporary knits, loungewear and activewear. Work closely with the sales and design team developing the overall concept and product strategy for each season. Identify key fashion trends for each account. Collaborate with sourcing team to ensure cost effective materials and trims. Strong fabric, and trim knowledge for new development, ensuring costing requirements for each customer. Attend fitting making sure garments are meeting customer specifications. Manage virtual and in person fit sessions with designs and technical design teams. Manage time and action calendar to meet deadlines. Shop the marketplace and overseas for new development and fashion inspiration. Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Merchandising. Minimum of 6 years designing knits. Knowledge of knit fabrications, and construction details. Strong fashion sense identifying junior/missy trends.
