Overview
The Principal Compensation Consultant will work closely with HR Business Partners and business leaders to drive solutions that attract, reward, and retain talent and support business objectives. This highly analytical role requires a deep understanding of compensation principles and the ability to perform a wide variety of duties including salary structure development and maintenance; integration and standardization of jobs in a complex environment; evaluation/market pricing of positions at all levels of the organization utilizing external market data and internal position comparisons; and managing enterprise-wide projects such as Annual Compensation Planning.
This is a key position in the administration of compensation projects and programs. The individual in this position will provide counsel to People Leaders to ensure consistent and equitable application of compensation policies and practices across Waters; is an integral part of the compensation team; prioritizes multiple competing priorities inherent to supporting end-to-end compensation programs across geographies.
Responsibilities
Act as trusted advisor to HR and business groups, providing recommendations on compensation matters in support of business goals regarding application of compensation policies, practices, and guidelines
Develop insights to analyze effectiveness and market competitiveness of compensation programs
Conduct job evaluations, job leveling, and provide salary recommendations ensuring internal equity and market alignment of total compensation
Develop and maintain job codes and associated market data and system requirements
Manage the annual global compensation survey process with the Compensation Team: organize and prepare survey submissions, respond to quality audits
Research and manage compliance with applicable regulatory requirements while staying up to date on current related legislation
Participate in the planning, development, implementation and administration of a wide variety of employee compensation programs including base pay, merit, incentive, and equity
Develop and deliver communications and training related to compensation programs, policies, and process
Work closely with all areas of HR in the development, implementation, revision, and maintenance of programs to support the efficient administration of compensation programs and analyses
Participate in other Total Rewards projects
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, HR, related field or commensurate experience
Eight years’ experience in compensation
Three years’ experience in global compensation environment
CCP course work a plus
Experience supporting M&A activities
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in compensation tools and practices
Advanced analytical, problem solving, and project management skills
Exceptional organization and attention to detail
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional groups
Proficiency in advanced Excel and PowerPoint
This is a hybrid role working from Milford, MA 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday)
