Overview
Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Litigation Docket Clerk to support our litigation practice firmwide, serving as an integral part of our team. This position can reside in Washington, D.C. with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. Flexibility to work overtime required. Responsibilities
Maintains the firm's docket system for litigation lawyers practicing in multiple courts and jurisdictions.
Identifies pertinent deadlines and prepares a master calendar of due dates for distribution to lawyers and staff.
Obtains filing information from court clerks and online dockets.
Experience and qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
At least one year of relevant litigation calendaring/docketing experience desired, preferably in a large law firm.
Understanding of court docketing and calendaring procedures and familiarity with court filings and general rules of court for processing pleadings at the federal, state, and county levels is strongly preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong proofreading skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to new software programs. ProLaw or comparable docketing software a plus.
Salary, benefits, and schedule
For positions in Washington, D.C., the salary range for this position is: $53,200 - $85,150.00. The base salary or hourly wage range will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on factors including prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range for other reasons. The total compensation package may include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), depending on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an offer of employment is extended. If hired, the employee will be in an at-will position and the firm reserves the right to modify base salary (and any other discretionary payment or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, firm or department performance, and market factors.
