Pleasant Hill, California-Special Olympics Northern California Corporate Office Position Summary : In collaboration with the Chief Development Officer, the Sr. Director of Individual Giving will develop and implement strategies for the management, solicitation, and stewardship of individual donors. The Sr. Director of Individual Giving will renew and secure new gifts of $1,000 and above, with the goal of significantly increasing the current level of individual donor support ($550,000) to new levels during the next three years - and beyond. Responsibilities/ Essential Functions: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to meet SONC’s three-year individual giving goal. Manage an existing portfolio of major donors and prospects through regular cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies and tactics. Increase donor engagement and lead high-profile events, such as the Honored Guest Program at the Summer Games. Provide stewardship for gifts of all levels, as well as strategies to ensure renewal of donors giving between $100-$999. Manage the Individual Donor Management Program (IDMP) and use Salesforce to maintain accurate donor records, track progress, and generate reports. Content & Communication: Generate content for 'Ways to Give' promotions across multiple channels (website, social media, and newsletters) and serve as a thought partner for the Annual Impact Report. Senior Collaboration and Planned Giving: Collaborate with senior leadership and the Board of Directors on major donor cultivation and solicitation, and develop and manage a planned giving program, as well as support regional development leads with their respective individual giving programs. Qualifications, Skills, & Experience: Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree and/or Certified Fundraiser Training preferred. Equivalent work experience in a Development role is an acceptable substitute for education. Proven success in major individual gift fundraising, including a track record of building and managing relationships with high-net-worth donors and closing gifts at the five- and six-level ranges. Strong and authentic strategic relationship development skills and the ability to build on and grow an individual giving program. Experience in planning and executing successful donor cultivation and retention events. Proficiency with fundraising databases, particularly Salesforce, and strong research skills to identify new donor prospects. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to network and build strong relationships. Experience working collaboratively in teams and across departments, with the ability to interact with diverse constituencies. Exceptional organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines. Experience with planned giving is a huge plus! Experience managing volunteers and event staff is preferred. Benefits and Compensation: We offer an inclusive, casual work environment with robust benefits for staff. $125,000 - $135,000; compensation is based on experience.
