Job Title: Interior DesignerJob Description

The Interior Designer will engage in all stages of project development, from conceptual design to construction administration. Under the guidance of the Design Director, you will create design concepts for various projects, including workplace, hospitality, multi-family residential, private club, and institutional settings. You are expected to produce presentation materials such as floor plans, renderings, furniture and material recommendations, and finish palettes. Additionally, you will support the construction document process, develop FF&E and art/accessory specifications, and coordinate with dealers for furniture procurement and installation.

Responsibilities

Participate in the creation of bid, permit, and construction documents.

Assist with reviewing submittals and RFIs.

Contribute to both interior and furniture punch list efforts.

Utilize Revit for rendering and 3D modeling.

Develop technical drawings and schematic designs.

Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality project outcomes.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in Revit for rendering and 3D modeling.

Experience with the full interior design process.

Ability to produce construction documents and schematic designs.

Strong skills in FF&E and technical drawings.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.

5-8 years of post-graduate experience.

Diverse portfolio with an emphasis on hospitality, multi-family, and workplace environments.

Ability to mentor junior designers.

Experience in sourcing furniture and fixtures.

The office is an open-concept space located in the vibrant West Loop area, surrounded by numerous dining options. The company culture is lively and collaborative, with a focus on creativity over documentation. The team frequently engages in community involvement and social outings, fostering a work-hard, play-hard mentality. The design group focuses solely on creative design tasks, with technical detailing as a secondary responsibility. Employees enjoy a flexible work schedule with 4 days in-office and 1 remote day per week. The position offers a great work/life balance, with expected hours from 8-9 AM to 5-6 PM, and flexibility around deadlines. Benefits include 10 days of PTO, 6 personal days, and additional paid time off.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $40.86/hr.
