Major Gifts Fundraising: assist in developing and maintaining a comprehensive, hospital/clinic-based philanthropy program focused on major gifts, planned gifts, annual giving, and corporate and foundation giving. Support the development and implementation of short- and long-range operational plans to strengthen and grow major gifts and planned giving programs. Understand and work with planned gifts (e.g., Charitable Gift Annuities, bequests, real property) and grow knowledge of gift agreements, endowment giving, and capital projects. Demonstrate a track record of closing major gifts at six figures and higher; review donor stratification reports to focus on top-tier donors and grow support within those levels. Support the Senior Director of Philanthropy in efforts to increase retention of mid- and major gift–level donors. Identify, cultivate, and steward donor relationships through personal visits, written, and oral communication to obtain fundraising gifts for Shriners Children’s (SC). Prospect Engagement & Stewardship through Centralized Services: lead a collaborative third-party fundraising approach to leverage greater funding for location efforts. Collaborate with the digital team to implement strategies using Classy or other platforms to engage more donors. Maintain knowledge on tools for donor engagement (real estate, vehicle, stock donations) to provide better experiences for donors and streamline efforts. Support engagement strategies with corporate and foundation teams; contribute to programs such as 31 Days to Amaze and other efforts to grow visibility and funds for the hospital/clinic. Build connections with chambers of commerce, executive leadership groups, and foundation and business councils to increase visibility and donor support in the community. Ensure accurate and timely recording of donor activities and gifts in SHC’s central donor database; demonstrate ability to build relationships with corporations and foundations. Assist in developing solicitation priorities and donor/prospect visitation schedules for senior staff and board members. Strategic Planning: assist in responding to strategic hospital and corporate priorities by meeting annual donor activity and philanthropic revenue goals; help implement location-specific annual plans. Staffing & Administration: assist in personnel development, recruitment, retention, and mentoring of philanthropy staff; build relationships with affiliated Temples and the community; plan events; support communication systems and represent the organization publicly; promote positive relationships with the Board of Governors and Shrine groups. Required : 5 years of fundraising experience; 3 years of major gifts and planned giving program experience; experience closing major and planned gifts from individuals, corporations, foundations and community organizations; Bachelor’s Degree. Preferred : Master’s Degree; charitable gift annuities experience; Blackbaud CRM experience.
