Overview

Performance Health is seeking a Director of Global Transportation to join our team. As a key member of the operations and supply chain team, the Director of Transportation will drive the strategy and execution for global inbound transportation/freight and outbound shipments to customers and suppliers across all distribution, 3PLs and manufacturing locations. Develops and/or refines appropriate transportation policies and programs that meet cost, service objectives, production and customer needs (covers sourcing, rate negotiation, the purchase of transportation). Identifies and analyzes transportation costs, equipment availability and service levels, making recommendations and instituting corrective action. Base pay range

$150,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr Additional compensation

Annual Bonus Responsibilities

In partnership with the Director of Indirect Sourcing, responsible for obtaining the most competitive transportation pricing without compromising quality and service. Lead the execution, compliance (imports/customs and CBP bonds, etc), contracting, and service of the inbound and the outbound transportation network, delivering freight costs savings, elevating customer experiences, and strengthening relationships with the Company's transportation partners. Ensure that the Company's transportation network remains resilient in the face of unforeseen network and market disruptions. Make recommendations, implement and manage a list of key service indicators to ensure that the global transportation costs are being managed to reduce the increase of costs. Develop and implement key performance metrics for inbound transportation, including on time delivery, cost savings, and container and small parcel utilization. Be a thought leader on ways to minimize and analyze cost (fuel surcharge, various accessorial charges, etc) and making recommendations on how to reduce without service disruption. Coordinate with cross functional departments to develop the most cost effective inbound and outbound strategy while maintaining customer expectations. Develop initiatives that support business strategies and plans for current and future sites. Works with Operations leadership on operational design to ensure appropriate results. Leads change to improve operational effectiveness. Drives the change management necessary to implement effective plans. Catalyst within operations to appropriately, and respectfully, challenge status quo which will continually drive improvements via best practice replication (learning from within the network and externally), creative and innovative solutions, alignment of goals and objectives and resource planning to deliver results across distribution/operations. In partnership with the Director of Indirect Sourcing negotiate annual contracts with freight carriers and monitor service levels of incumbent carriers. Analyze the impact of contract proposals and evaluate expense and operational results. Act as the subject matter expert on transportation and aid in educating partners and leadership in an effort to prioritize and secure funding and resources for executing shipping and transportation strategies and reducing costs. Conduct market intelligence research on potential service disruptions, cost fluctuations, and risk exposure and report proposed solutions to senior management. Provide leadership to managers, experienced professional staff and operational associates. Promote a productive work environment with high employee engagement levels. Create and execute strategies to control operating costs across the distribution and manufacturing network. Drive key projects and maintain timelines to ensure proper execution. Develop and implement key performance indicators, policies and procedures to achieve organizational goals. Assist in the development of functional strategies and continuous improvement initiatives. Interact with internal and external leaders, including senior management. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Operations Management or Business Administration 12+ years of experience in Supply Chain & Transportation with project leadership assignments Demonstrated success in leadership roles and consistent achievement record Demonstrated experience implementing and managing 3PL service providers for warehousing and transportation management services Experience managing transportation providers for domestic and international shipments Additional relevant work experience includes distribution administration, general business management, warehouse labor (receiving, order filling, shipping, or customer service), and employment in the medical products distribution industry Ability to manage a budget and execute operations plans to meet expense goals Experience with financial controls and the analytical skills needed to understand how the management of daily operations translates into monthly, quarterly, and annual expense lines Familiarity with procedures for capital request, financial justification, and project administration Ability to travel 10-25% of the time, including overnight travel Our benefits include healthcare; insurance benefits; retirement programs; paid time off plans; family and parenting leaves; wellness programs; discount purchase programs.
