Overview Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a

Product Owner III

with our large power and utilities client in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12-month contract with a potential for extension. Pay range: $60.00/hr - $68.00/hr. W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment.

This position defines, delivers, and manages the lifecycle of products in a product portfolio. Leads the product team(s) developing the product(s). The role involves stakeholder management, financial management, budgeting processes, and value tracking for the products and/or portfolio. The role reports to and works under the guidance of the product manager. It focuses primarily on tactical execution within the team, with direct responsibility for one or more data product solutions. The position provides leadership guiding the team to successful product delivery through the Agile framework and engages with key business stakeholders to ensure the team is focused on value-driven deliverables for end users. You will be part of a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, energetic, and high-performing team at the heart of customer data delivery and data-driven transformation.

Responsibilities

Defines and manages product roadmap in conjunction with stakeholders

Builds, grooms, and prioritizes the product backlog, continuously managing expectations with relevant stakeholders—including the senior leadership team

Manages the sprint planning process and participates in all relevant ceremonies (reviews of prior sprints, grooming, retrospectives, etc.)

Develops a deep contextual understanding of customer, worker, and user needs

Gathers market feedback through user interactions, focus groups, and industry research to support future development

Writes detailed functional specifications, user stories, and product documentation

Collaborates with cross-functional teams of developers, designers, and analysts to implement and deliver new products and features

Collaborates with the organization on vision, strategy, decisioning, tactical execution, and measurement systems

Communicates roadmap stages and timelines internally with key stakeholders

Works with stakeholders and end users to understand needs, capture value, and maintain relationships

Required / Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

Four (4) years of related work experience, in addition to the required degree

In lieu of Bachelor’s degree and four years of related work experience, high school/GED and eight years of related work experience

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Science or Management Information Systems

Seven years of related work experience in addition to the degree

Certified SCRUM Product Owner

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Seven or more years in the utility industry

Experience as a Senior Product Analyst

Agile Product Owner certification

Six Sigma Black Belt certification

Experience with Jira

Experience working with Data Engineers

Experience with AWS

Specific Requirements

Entrepreneurial with a strong inclination toward action, preferably with experience with AI and customer data delivery

Ability to communicate complex and innovative concepts to a new product development team as well as key stakeholders/funders

Clear passion for technology products and the ability to identify opportunities to innovate, create value, and enhance customer experiences

Self-directed and proactive in anticipating problems and seeking opportunities

Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships and influence across all management levels, from developers to C-suite

Experience in an agile environment with data engineers and cross-functional product teams

Experience in fast-paced environments with new product or technology development

Experience in KPI-driven environments with accountability to determine the best actions to meet goals

Experience in project budgeting, financial tracking, and value/KPI tracking
