Overview
Quality Assurance Supervisor
is a detail-oriented and experienced role at a leading food manufacturing facility specializing in
food coloring and confectionery products . The QA Supervisor will oversee daily QA operations, ensure regulatory and food safety compliance (FDA, FSMA, GFSI), and support continuous improvement initiatives to uphold the highest quality standards in our products and processes.
Location:
Orange County, CA (ONSITE)
Salary:
$60,000 – $80,000
Responsibilities
Supervise daily QA activities to ensure product quality and food safety standards are met.
Monitor production lines to ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, and company SOPs.
Lead the investigation and resolution of quality issues, customer complaints, and non-conformances.
Coordinate quality inspections, sampling, testing, and release of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
Support and maintain food safety programs, including allergen control, sanitation, traceability, and supplier verification.
Conduct internal audits and assist with external audits (e.g., FDA, third-party, customer).
Train and mentor QA technicians and production staff on quality and food safety protocols.
Maintain accurate and organized QA documentation (batch records, COAs, deviation reports, etc.).
Collaborate with R&D, Production, and Supply Chain to ensure seamless communication on quality-related matters.
Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of lab and QA equipment.
Assist with specification development for new and existing products, particularly for food coloring and confectionery formulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field preferred.
3+ years of QA experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of FDA regulations, HACCP, GMP, and GFSI standards (SQF, BRC, etc.).
Experience with root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QA-related systems (LIMS, ERP, etc.).
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a strong attention to detail.
