The Transportation Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of transportation operations, ensuring efficiency, and delivering a seamless experience for our members and guests. The Transportation Associate will play a pivotal role in valet, as the Valet position is the first and last point of contact for our members and guests, and will be responsible to create positive, lasting impressions for our members and guests, providing rides off property, maintaining the member personal carts & the club’s fleet of carts, and maintaining the Club’s fleet of vehicles. This position must work effectively with Member Services, Operations, Residential Services, Members and Guests. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members, guests and fellow employees. Responsibilities Provide Service to Members for their on-site carts, working with the approved vendors at Makena. Ensure all Member carts are serviced and maintained monthly and clean upon their arrival. Ensure all vehicles are in optimal condition for safe and reliable transportation, presentable and stocked with amenities. Work with all departments at Makena to ensure transportation needs for events and daily movement around the property are met. Help with the rental of vehicles, carts for Sales, Marketing and Transportation as needed, outside of Makena Fleet. Work with all departments to maintain & service the staff carts used by employees to get around property. Work with Golf Operations to maintain & service the golf cart fleet. Provide deliveries/pickups as needed, and run other errands as needed. Prepare and submit reports that include number of passenger trips, ridership, hours worked, mileage, and fuel consumption. Comply with local and public traffic laws, and highway safety rules and regulations in operating vehicles. Daily review of the transportation & events calendar to keep up to date with current and future transportation needs. Any additional duties as assigned. Skills & Qualifications Valid U.S. Driver’s license or International Equivalent High School diploma, GED or equivalent. At least six (6) months of guest-service experience in a high-volume environment at a restaurant, resort, or private club Prior valet attendant in luxury club or private resort setting (preferred). Proficient in proper and safe driving of vehicles. Driving record that meets the Club’s insurance requirements. Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time and use vision, hearing, and hands/arms to drive multi-passenger vehicles. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and a shift greater than eight (8) hours in length due to business demands. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds. Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times. Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and desire to work in fast-paced environment.
