Overview
The SVP, Regional Commercial Banking Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing a regional loan production unit. This leadership role includes directing loan production activities to drive new business growth, supervising a team of commercial loan officers, and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. In addition to managerial responsibilities, the incumbent plays a key role in originating new commercial loans, maintaining strong client relationships, and contributing directly to the region’s financial performance. Travels to meet with customers to identify, develop and pursue opportunities to sell loan products and related financial services. Ensures compliance within all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervises loan officers including recruiting, hiring, performance management, and assists them in generating quality loans Generates loans for his/her own portfolio Travel to and meet with potential and existing customers Call and visit target customers at a variety of locations convenient to the customer to promote and sell established products and services. Travel to and from a lead or customer’s place of business or place convenient for the lead or customer. Meet with existing or new leads or customers at their place of business or place convenient for the lead or customer. Manages quality control within the production team and ensures loans files are complete with no material pre-screening errors Reviews loan prior to submission to loan underwriting staff ensuring adherence to Poppy Bank Loan Policy Communicates effectively with management, loan origination personnel, loan underwriters, loan processors, and the note department to assure quarterly funding objectives are satisfied Source and/or direct loan production to include CRA-eligible loans with a primary focus on the bank’s respective assessment areas. Collaborates with loan officers, as needed, to conduct interviews with prospective loan applicants and gather required documentation to support loan applications Analyzes applicant financial status, credit, banking status, and other information to determine feasibility of granting loan Assists loan officers, as needed, in corresponding with or interviewing applicants and creditors to clarify and resolve questions related to loan application information Compiles loan package and facilitates negotiation of loan structure with applicants, including fees, loan repayment options, and other credit terms Generates and screens leads following establishment policies and procedures to attain new business relationships and product sales Calls and visits target customers to promote and sell establishment products and services Promotes and cross-sells other establishment products and services as appropriate to customer requirements, such as business checking, business credit card, and letters of credit Compiles and analyzes market research data in order to develop or increase the competitiveness of current product and services offering Identifies and analyzes potential loan markets to develop prospects for establishment product and services offerings Provides loan data to support marketing and sales promotion programs Oversees and ensures accuracy and performance of loan administration and processes, such as receipt of applications from prospective applicants, completeness of loan packages, and timely processing, funding, and closing of committed loans Minimum of 10 hours CRA volunteer hours per year. Volunteer hours are typically scheduled within business hours. This is compensable time and mileage is reimbursed Other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervisory responsibilities include all directly assigned Loan Officers. Incumbent is expected to provide performance management, mentoring and training support as necessary. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field is preferred Minimum 3 years management experience Minimum 7 years’ experience in commercial lending, commercial real estate and construction lending Strong knowledge of commercial lending, commercial real estate and construction lending Strong knowledge of the marketplace and ability to keep current with changes. Strong knowledge of lending regulations Proficient in the following software applications: MS Word, Excel, Outlook Excellent written and verbal communication Valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle for transportation Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Requirements
