Overview
VP, Technology Innovation & Artificial Intelligence role at Nationwide. This role leads Technology Innovations & Artificial Intelligence efforts to identify and synthesize ideas that support business growth, maintain Nationwide's competitive advantage, and prepare teams for future innovation and emerging technology adoption. Key Responsibilities
Develop Technology's Innovation and Emerging Technology strategy and vision for the company; including an AI engagement model with peer technology and business leaders, AI roadmap and AI-powered operations. Oversee the development and implementation of AI technologies and strategies to support business objectives; collaborate with the Digital & Innovation office to build and integrate AI capabilities into existing technology and operations. Build trust and apply AI strategies in alignment with the overall technology and business strategy; ensure scalability, results orientation, and security. Establish and maintain an AI governance framework to provide standardization guidance, processes, policies, tools, and new capabilities. Partner in identifying and mitigating risks associated with AI technologies. Identify new technology possibilities and organize resources, funding, and communication needed to transform them into useful products, processes and capabilities. Serve as an industry expert and core member of Nationwide\\'s AI program to bring appropriate AI use and adoption; analyze market trends and competitive landscape. Lead all aspects of associate management, including performance, salary administration, training and development, hiring, day-to-day management and corrective actions. Reporting Relationships
Reports to Technology SVP, Chief Technology Officer. Manages a team of up to six directs and 25 indirect technology professionals. Qualifications
Education : Undergraduate studies in Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred. License/Certification/Designation : Lean Six Sigma or related preferred. Experience : Typically ten or more years of technology experience including application development, operations, and project delivery with a focus on innovation. At least eight years of senior level management experience. Previous experience with AI and emerging technologies, as well as large, complex and multidisciplinary projects. Knowledge, Abilities and Skills : Excellent communication (verbal, written, facilitation, negotiation, and presentation) skills; ability to provide technical, project, and people leadership; ability to use technology in new and creative ways; ability to foster positive relationships enterprise-wide.
