Overview Store Manager role at Goodwill Industries of the Greater Chattanooga Area. Oversees safety and operations of donated merchandise retail, manages staff, ensures customer service, and drives store performance within established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Punctual and dependable attendance.

Manage budget and maintain expenditures in accordance with agency, departmental, and store financial goals.

Comply with Donated Goods Retail SOPs, agency safety and security policies and procedures.

Hire, train, supervise, evaluate, motivate, and develop store personnel to exceed operational standards.

Greet and assist donors and customers, provide excellent customer service.

Resolve complaints and communicate with the management team.

Maintain proficiency for tasks required in all workstations; monitor store appearance and housekeeping.

Perform all functions of store personnel; attend meetings and training; conduct monthly store meetings.

Maintain records and reports accurately and timely.

Meet store sales goals and operate within budgetary guidelines.

Oversee production and rotation of merchandise, ensure quality, and proper pricing.

Review and adhere to safety policies; attend safety trainings and report unsafe conditions or incidents.

Assist at other store locations as needed; perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School degree or GED required.

Associate degree or related retail management coursework preferred.

5 years of supervisory experience with 15+ employees preferred and/or proven leadership in a Goodwill assignment with training completion.

High attention to detail; excellent oral and written English communication; interpersonal skills; bilingual a plus.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Ability to adapt to growth and changing environments within the Agency.

CPR and First Aid certifications as required.

Reliable transportation and ability to transfer within the territory as needed.

Availability to work during operating hours, including days, evenings, holidays, weekends; 45+ hours weekly as needed.
