Position We are seeking a Senior Tax Planning Manager, Tax Controversy to become a member of our Tax Planning team in Juno Beach, Florida. Our in-house tax department is a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting U.S. federal and state income tax audits, coordinating with subject matter experts (SMEs) to research and contemporaneously document material income tax positions, and identify, analyze, and document FIN 48 positions.
Experience & Qualifications
7+ years of experience working on tax controversy at an AmLaw 100 law firm, “Big 4” public accounting firm, and/or Fortune 500 in-house corporate tax department
Strong foundation of income tax technical knowledge with experience evaluating and advising on tax positions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to coordinate effectively with various SMEs and communicate tax positions to tax authorities and senior tax leadership
Self-motivated with excellent project management, organizational, and leadership skills
Ability to work with Excel and various tax software tools, including tax compliance and tax research software
Experience with US and state income tax appeals process and tax litigation a plus
Energy industry experience, but not required

Member in Good Standing of State Bar
Juris Doctorate
Experience: 7+ years
