$27.47 - $43.27 per hour Rush salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data. Summary:
Manage daily surgical scheduling operations and staff for surgical clinics. Drive efficient workflows and exceptional customer service aligned with organizational targets. Responsibilities:
Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and Compliance policies and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the surgery scheduling area by monitoring the daily schedules to meet the physician’s requested blocks and surgical times. Ensures surgical data entered for the case, patient and required resources is accurate and following the physician’s request. Ensures all surgical requests made by physicians/office staff, electronically or verbally, are completed daily to meet their and patient’s expectations. Exercises complex problem-solving techniques, collection/data entry, and evaluation and reporting of statistical concepts. Oversees customer communication, positive or negative, by means of receiving calls, meeting with customers, data input, written/verbal communication, problem delegation/resolution, process improvement, statistical reporting and presentation. Maintains a positive working relationship with physician’s offices and ancillary departments and communicates and consults with leadership as it relates to improving customer satisfaction. Ensures all required authorization/pre-certification have been accurately collected along with the CPT and ICD Monitors prior authorization work queues and partners with preadmission leadership team on process improvement Assists leadership with adherence to the departmental budget. Conducts quarterly staff meetings to provide feedback on unit operations, discuss problematic issues and introduce new procedures and/or regulations. Develops work schedules proficiently, changes in staffing roles and work assignments based on department needs. Supervises staff in fair and effective manner and assists with performing timely evaluations, initiating appropriate coaching/counseling and mechanisms to ensure competent staff. Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated leadership capability, relationship development, financial and analytic skills. Comprehensive understanding of the functions of a perioperative scheduler. Strategic planning knowledge and experience. Ability to identify components within a process that require improvements. Ability to communicate with patient’s, healthcare professionals, and staff to ensure clear and accurate exchange of information. Personal characteristics that include versatility, flexibility, enthusiasm, effective interpersonal and communication skills, and excellent writing skills. Evidence of a management style that emphasizes collegiality, teamwork, participation and communication. Leadership skills characterized as one who possesses a broad vision of the future of the health care. Knowledge of scheduling, insurance verification, benefits and authorization to include CPT and ICD10 coding. Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree Practice management experience Two (2) years of surgical scheduling or advanced scheduling experience Experience in an academic medical center.
