Financial Model Validation Lead Analyst, Vice President

The Risk Analytics, Modeling and Validation role involves the development, enhancement, and validation of methods for measuring and analyzing all types of risks, including markets, treasury, credit, and operational. In areas related to financial and regulatory risks, individuals in this role validate financial models in Recovery and Resolution Planning for measuring Liquidity, Capital, PPNR, Credit and Operational losses. This role is vital to the company as it provides a scientific and systematic approach to assessing, identifying and mitigating risks, thereby ensuring the company\'s compliance to model risk regulatory guidance and supporting its overall business strategy. Responsibilities
The role is Model Validation Lead (VL), initially an individual contributor. Oversee a portfolio (e.g., Recovery and Resolution Planning) of model types / product types for a specific business area. Perform model validations, annual model reviews, ongoing monitoring reviews (on Low, Medium and High Model Risk Rating (MRR) models), model limitation remediation reviews, Supervisory and Peer Reviews across the specific portfolio. Ensure accuracy of validations performed by Validators covering the VL\'s specific portfolio. Provide effective challenge to the model development process on Low / Medium / High MRR models in accordance with the Citi Model Risk Management Policy. Avoid non-compliance by ensuring business decisions align with laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying ethical judgment, escalating and reporting control issues with transparency. Conduct analyses and package them into detailed technical documentation for validation purposes sufficient to meet regulatory guidelines and exceed industry standards. Manage stakeholder interaction with model developers and business owners during the model life-cycle. Present model validation findings to senior management and supervisory authorities. Takes personal accountability for escalating, identifying, and managing potential risk; implement controls that enhance the client experience and operational effectiveness. Anticipate problems and proactively identify solutions that address root causes and yield meaningful improvements. Set high expectations and invest the necessary effort to deliver excellence and exceed performance goals. Role-model and help others do the right thing for clients and Citi in all situations, even when difficult. Engage key stakeholders early and often and actively look for opportunities to improve collaboration in achieving common goals. Proactively seek opportunities to volunteer in Citi programs that support the community and advocate for solutions that meet Citi\'s clients and community needs. Promote the needs and preferences of colleagues; support balance, well-being, and development. Leverage networks to recruit diverse talent and advocate for colleagues with diverse skillsets and experiences. Listen empathetically and understand others\' positions before acting; amplify voices that are minimized in the workplace. Appropriately assess risk in business decisions, drive compliance with laws and regulations, escalate, manage and report control issues with transparency, and supervise teams to uphold these standards. Qualifications
6-10 years of experience Good knowledge and experience in quantitative or qualitative model development and validation testing techniques covering financial/business planning or risk management at a major financial institution Extensive knowledge of financial markets and products Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills Extensive experience in data analysis, interpretation of findings, and technical writing Self-motivated and detail oriented Demonstrated project management and organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects Comfortable interfacing with business clients Ability to formulate recommendations on policies, procedures, or practices Education
