Overview
Facilities Manager Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm with a Saturday Rotation 8:00am - 1:00pm Responsibilities
Manages and oversees the planning, operation, repair, and maintenance of heating / cooling, electrical, emergency power, fire protection systems, plumbing, grounds, and carpentry of all properties. Provides thought leadership and partnership for the strategic planning and maintenance of all properties. Responsible for the environment of care and all its major components: Life Safety, safety, Security, Hazardous materials and wastes, emergency preparedness, medical equipment, and utility systems. Identifies and recommends changes and improvements within the facilities to be consistent with appropriate codes and authorities to ensure safe operation. Ensures compliance in conjunction with Compliance and Risk Manager, federal, state, and local regulatory and accrediting agency standards, and guidelines for facilities operations. Manages relationships with contractors for short- and long-term assignments as appropriate. Provides leadership and management for the Facility staff and contract provider. Develops, implements and maintains an emergency preparedness management plan. Assists with new site development which includes working with contractors and architects to ensure that timelines and budgets are met. Coordinates construction, remodeling, and renovation projects to include managing and communicating scheduled utility interruptions and ensuring that contractual provisions and construction schedules are met (as applicable), satisfy standards of Chicago Family Health Center and government regulations and codes. Education and Experience
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, or related field A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience as a facilities manager or similar position. Includes one (1) year of supervisory experience in mechanical and electrical engineering, and / or HVAC. Previous experience within community-based health or health care industry is a plus. Working knowledge of LEED Certified type buildings and project management of new and renovation experience Strong interpersonal skills and diplomacy. Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment while handling sensitive and confidential materials. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting. Strong communication and business acumen. Ability to work independently and to seek consultation as necessary. Ability to follow organization and departmental processes and procedures. Ability to work in a high stress/fast paced/high work volume environment.
