Senior Business Analyst - Information Technology

The University of Akron, Akron, OH 44325, is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to serve as a liaison between the campus community, business units, related third parties, and the IT organization to provide business process solutions to meet departmental and institutional needs. The successful candidate will possess a moderate level of expertise and knowledge of the business unit(s), process improvement, technology solutions, and the enterprise or third-party systems used by the units. They will analyze business unit operations and functions to identify gaps and deficiencies with unit or institutional processes and evaluate, recommend, implement, and support solutions used to automate or improve processes and functions. Essential Functions: Assist in the redesign, analysis, development, implementation, and support of business processes and systems for business units supported by the analyst. Lead business process re-engineering teams for complex business process redesign. Act as liaison between business units supported and information technology staff in upgrades and new systems and technology that is put in place to support the business units. Translate high-level business requirements into detailed specifications for technology staff. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts with the project team(s). Analyze issues within supported business processes and systems, providing recommendations on these. Lead the effort in implementing suggested recommendations. Prepare testing plans and design and maintain test scripts for the processes and systems that are supported. Conduct testing in support of upgrades and enhancements applied to supported systems. Provide ad hoc reports and queries for business processes and systems that are supported as requested. Maintain user and training documentation for supported business processes and systems. Provide training for primary users of systems and processes that are supported. Maintain system configurations for business processes that are supported. Requirements: Relevant Bachelor's Degree. Minimum of 4 years of experience in business or systems analysis and process improvement. Experience in defining eliciting business requirements and testing. Basic knowledge in defining and documenting business processes. An understanding of current general information technology concepts, theories, trends, and systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively conduct presentations. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical writing skills. Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees. Ability to adapt to and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously as well as shifting priorities, demands, and timelines. Application Instructions:
