Responsibilities
Lead, drive, and own the definition, development, and deployment of the overall Product Vision and strategy through collaboration with key stakeholders.
Understand American Modern systems, processes, and products; analyze data and metrics to determine business requirements focused on delivering customer value.
Define, refine, and prioritize business requirements within a product backlog in accordance with department priorities and product value; translate business requirements into technical user stories.
Translate business and associate requirements into Epics and Features (high-level business user stories) and collaborate with IT Project Managers and/or Business Analysts to break down features into technical user stories, plan sprints, and obtain approvals.
Manage product backlogs and prioritize based on changing requirements; monitor and evaluate product progress at each stage.
Provide insights and regular communication to leadership and stakeholders about progress, risks, and needed changes; liaise with the product team and end-users to deliver iterative updates and reviews.
Participate in Agile-Scrum ceremonies with the IT team to provide updates, direction, and planning; ensure acceptance criteria and Definition of Done for each story; collaborate with the development team to provide timely answers and decisions.

Strong analytical skills across data, processes, and risk management
Strong understanding of American Modern technology, products, and processes
Strong collaboration and communication skills across the organization with IT and stakeholders; ability to translate business needs into technical constraints and ensure understanding
Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to drive the team to meet goals and deadlines
Business-to-Technical Translator: translate business requirements to technical user stories and prioritize requirements for implementation
Change leadership, problem solving, and critical thinking
Skills / Knowledge / Experience
5+ years of American Modern experience
3-5 years of Product Owner experience
Strong technical and business skills; strong leadership
Advanced computer skills and advanced communication & presentation skills
Business writing and proficiency with Microsoft Office
Strong analytical skills
Education, Certifications & Designations
Required: 3+ years Product Owner experience; Agile Product Ownership Certification
Preferred: P&C license; Six Sigma; certifications or efforts in leadership, management, or training
